The Pfänder - our local mountain by the lake - is one of our favorite places to visit. That’s why we’ve dedicated some of our themed rooms to it. Take the cable car up to the 1.064-meter-high Pfänder. There, you’ll find a well-marked network of hiking trails, ranging from short loop hikes to longer tours.
From the Pfänder, on a clear day, you can enjoy a breathtaking view across Lake Constance - and with a little luck, even as far as Konstanz. A visit to the Alpine Wildlife Park also makes for a particularly varied outing.
If you’re exploring on foot, you’ll find plenty of options around Lake Constance and in the lush Allgäu region: from a leisurely stroll to a long hike. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the lake, nature, and the surrounding mountains time and again.
At 1.062 meters, the Pfänder may not be one of the highest peaks in the Allgäu Alps, but it more than makes up for it with an all the more impressive view. Thanks to its unobstructed location, the summit offers a sweeping view across Lake Constance and of numerous Alpine peaks. Our hotel at the foot of the Pfänder is an ideal starting point for a hike. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can take the Pfänderbahn up the mountain and begin their hike from there.
Whether it’s the Allgäu Alps, the Lechtal Alps, the Bregenzerwald, or the Silvretta - from the Pfänder, the mountain world reveals itself from ever-changing perspectives. Even beyond the famous scenic mountain, the surrounding area offers numerous hiking opportunities: from the rolling hills of Upper Swabia to the Allgäu Pre-Alps. This allows you to wonderfully combine nature, exercise, and magnificent views of Lake Constance.
